Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project

02

Surrey & New Westminster, British Columbia

The Pattullo Bridge is a key connection between the communities of Surrey and New Westminster in British Columbia. The bridge originally opened in 1937, and construction is currently underway to replace the aging bridge. Construction is scheduled for completion in 2025, when the new bridge will open, and the existing one will be removed.

ECI Strategy and Modularization Create Success at Mosaic’s K3 Mine Expansion Project

05

Esterhazy, Saskatchewan, Canada

To help improve the outcome of large-scale and more complex projects, modularization is an increasingly smarter strategy. Modularization gives teams more certainty to design for efficiency, and to anticipate each step in the build process, by eliminating some of the less controllable conditions associated with on-site, outdoor construction.

Fabrication of a Mega Superpot in North America: A Collaborative Approach

06

Alberta, Canada

For this major mining expansion project. innovative strategies were sought to optimize the entire build process. The large financial investment created a strong incentive for finding ways to reduce total installed costs (TIC), as well as to improve quality, safety, and the scheduled timeframe.

‎ FABRICATING THE FUTURE

Modularization & ECI

Saskarc is the industry leader specializing in Modular Fabrication and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) for complex, large-scale industrial projects across North America.

Overview summary combining the key points from the PDF files:

infraMOD is a company specializing in modular fabrication and Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) strategies for large-scale industrial projects. The documents highlight several case studies and explain the benefits of modularization and ECI:

Benefits of Modularization

– Improved safety for workers
– Better quality of built components
– More certain and accelerated scheduling
– Reduced labor and material usage
– Lower total installed costs
– Ability to build multiple modules simultaneously
– Completion of pre-assembly for intricate elements
– Reduced rental and staging costs

Case Studies

– Original plan was for on-site construction
– infraMOD proposed a modular approach with off-site fabrication
– Result: Faster installation, reduced on-site work, lower costs, and better schedule adherence

b) Mosaic K3 Mine Expansion Project:
– infraMOD was involved early in the planning process
– Provided expertise on modular design and fabrication
– Resulted in successful completion of the project with high quality, safety, and cost-efficiency

c) Broadway Subway Project (Vancouver):
– infraMOD fabricated structural steel components for temporary road surfaces
– Used innovative solutions like robotic fabrication and specialized coating equipment
– Allowed for efficient installation and future disassembly

Early Contractor Involvement (ECI)

– Improves communication between stakeholders (owner, engineer, fabricator)
– Allows for better project planning and optimization
– Helps prevent issues and costly redesigns later in the project
– Can be implemented through three main paths: Traditional Project Management, Selecting a Preferred Fabricator, or Managed ECI

infraMOD's Approach

– Offers Preliminary and Comprehensive Feasibility Analysis services
– Focuses on becoming an extension of the customer’s team
– Aims to complete projects faster, more safely, and with lower total installed costs

The documents emphasize that while modularization and ECI can greatly benefit large-scale industrial projects, early planning and involvement of fabrication contractors are crucial for maximizing these benefits. infraMOD positions itself as an experienced partner in this process, capable of helping clients assess and implement modular strategies from the early stages of project planning.
