infraMOD™ is seeking a talented and motivated Structural Design Engineer to act as a technical specialist responsible for supporting design-engineering activities for Custom Shoring and other Structural solution. This role is pivotal in integrating our proprietary infraMOD™ solutions into project designs to ensure designs meet client specifications, industry standards and internal benchmarks. You will bridge the gap between estimation and execution, ensuring design integrity from the pre-construction phase through to project closeout including any installation support. Key Responsibilities:
- Structural Design & Analysis
- Perform detailed engineering calculations and prepare design packages (drawings, calculation reports) for submission to approvers.
- Execute connection-related design and engineering, ensuring alignment with fabrication capabilities.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry codes and standards
- Pre-Construction & Proposal Support
- Serve as the engineering support for the Estimating team during the pricing stage to ensure accurate scope capture.
- Review engineer and vendor proposals for design-related activities to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Coordination & Quality Control
- Liaise with third-party engineers, Engineers of Record (EOR), and external design partners to coordinate submissions and approvals.
- Review 3D models and technical documents for accuracy, feasibility, and constructability.
Identify and resolve design conflicts (e.g., structural constraints, site limitations) between disciplines early in the process. - Review shop drawings to ensure they strictly adhere to the original design intent before fabrication begins
- Perform field visual inspection on the designed structures when needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and preferably able to stamp the drawings and calculations for the work in Province of Ontario; Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
- Experience: Proven experience in structural steel design, fabrication methods, and connection design.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of steel fabrication codes and construction methods.
- Proprietary Knowledge: Ability to learn and apply infraMOD™ solutions and modularization practices.
- Software Proficiency: Proficient using SAATD Pro, AutoCAD, Revit and connection design software; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project).
