Ground Anchoring Solutions That De-Risk Your Project

infraMOD’s ground anchoring solutions are engineered to reduce risk, simplify installation, and support faster, more predictable excavation progress.

In combination with our engineered struts and walers, the ground anchors provide a customized site-specific solution for your project. Instead of running around identifying vendors, asking for quotes, managing their delivery all the while trying to save costs & keep the project on schedule, reach out to infraMOD that provides a total packaged solution for your support of excavation needs.

We use PTI Rock and Soil Anchor Recommendations DC 35-14 and ASTM standards. Ground anchor capacity depends on soil properties and steel properties. We use steel bars with ultimate tensile strength (fu) of 150 ksi per ASTM A722 or steel 7-wires strand with ultimate tensile strength of 270 Ksi per ASTM A416. Maximum temporary tension (test load) cannot exceed 80%fu, transfer load is maximum 70%fu and design load should be <60%fu.

Our North American ground anchors are comprised of the following

Temporary construction shoring requires robust and reliable support systems to ensure the safety and stability of the project. Tiebacks play a crucial role in these systems, offering enhanced lateral resistance and load-bearing capacity. Tiedown and other prestressed ground anchors work on the same philosophy as the tieback anchors with a load transfer to a structure.

infraMOD Grade 150 KSI Thread Bars, 270 KSI low relaxation Strand Anchors have been successfully used as Prestressed Ground Anchors for a wide variety of Civil Engineering applications.

Our infraMOD systems feature high quality Thread Bars of various grades in a range of diameters from 1” to 3” Dia. We provide various system solutions for a variety of technical engineering purposes, including CT-Bolts for mining and tunnelling and reinforcement connections.

With a faster and less expensive installation process than traditional methods, soil nails can accept passive loads seconds after installation and work in tandem with primary excavation. Soil Nails are designed to provide robust stabilization solutions across a range of ground conditions, featuring both Thread Bar and Hollow bar systems for adaptability and reliability across various ground conditions.

infraMOD Grade 75, Grade 80 and soil nail components create an in-situ reinforcement system for the stabilization of excavations and slopes during top-down construction. Oversized holes of 4” to 10” in diameter are drilled and the centralized soil nail component is placed. The drill hole is then tremie grouted with cement grout. After the drill hole grout has cured, the soil nails may be torque tensioned against the protective shotcrete face to a slight load if desired.

Suggested working loads on common soil nails should not exceed 60% of the bar’s ultimate strength.

Foundation bearing Micro Piles are highly adaptable deep foundation solutions used to transfer structural loads through weak or unstable soils into more competent load-bearing strata. Micro Piles are high capacity, small diameter (5” to 12”) drilled and grouted in-place piles designed with steel reinforcement to primarily resist structural loading. These provide superior load-bearing support even in complex geotechnical environments.

Micro piles have rapidly gained popularity for foundations in urbanized areas or in locations with low headroom and restricted access. They are an ideal choice for underpinning or emergency repairs because they can be installed in virtually any ground condition with minimal vibration and disturbance to existing structures. infraMOD larger diameters of Thread Bar are popular choices for Micro Piles foundations.

Rock anchors serve as essential components in bedrock construction, providing the structural stability needed for demanding excavation and reinforcement works.

The fundamental principle behind rock anchoring involves creating a secure connection between surface structures and stable rock formations deep underground. This connection allows engineers to harness the inherent strength of bedrock to support retaining walls, foundations, and slope stabilization projects.

Rock anchors offer several advantages, including cost-effectiveness, rapid installation, and the ability to achieve high bond capacities, limiting the length of anchor required. Equipment to install rock anchors is versatile, allowing rock anchors to be installed from small benches or above unstable slopes if required.

To comply with the need for bolts which will satisfactorily anchor a broad range of variable rock formations, infraMOD has a complete family of rock bolts with a simple and efficient system of installation.

A CT bolt is a specialized type of anchor designed for use in underground mining to ensure the stability of rocks and prevent the collapse of galleries, tunnels, and other subterranean structures. These bolts are essential for maintaining safety in areas with unstable rock conditions.

The CT bolt consists of a steel bar, which is typically strong and durable, with a head at one end. At the other end of the bolt is an anchoring device, which includes a plate and a bulb. This bulb is designed to expand when tension is applied to the rod, securely anchoring the bolt to the surrounding rock. This mechanism provides effective support and stabilizes the surrounding rock mass, reducing the risk of collapse and improving overall safety during mining operations.

These bolts are highly effective in situations where higher strength is required to ensure the safety and stability of the mine. They are frequently used in tunneling projects like subway projects. Additionally, CT bolts are critical for the construction of infrastructure such as dams, water works and bridges, where underground tunneling and excavation are involved.
